Mood: Not enough time to do it all.
7th January 2005

Sea Temperature: 7

I downhauled my 4.7 to its maximum, got my wave board out and and hit the sea, I mean the lake. At first it was very windy and I was a bit nervous. Then I got my confidence up and went for it. I just did long reaches across the lake falling in occasioanlly, and beaching to turn. Then I pulled of a gybe or 2 so did gybes after that. Then the wind fell of a bit and with so much off the sail I was barging too much.

On the axxis I got going better and had no problem going upwind. I got some good air but tried to keep it flat a lot of the time as once airborne I was all over place today. I did a few floaters.

It was quite gusty, but not so much it was impossible, I mean us inlanders get used to gusty conditions, unlike you seaside fraternity who can't cope with it!

I am feeling strong at the moment what with going to the gym for the last 3months and really pushing it, also cycling quite a bit - I mean I feel better than in a long time since I used to be really fit. It feels good!

Neil was on his starboard wave or his freesex, and was lookin' good. Graeme was havin a go. Colin was there but he left early, Andy Purdy looked good too. Phil was strugglin as he forgot to use down haul, and that explained why he was finding it quite tricky!

Well worth half a day flexi!
